KUVO welcomes the Ron LeGault Quartet to the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio on Wednesday, February 21 – 2pm to 3pm.

Pianist Ron LeGault performs in a variety of settings, including ensembles, solo, big band and accompanying vocalists. Ron currently presents a weekly jazz series of duo performances at Rory’s Tavern in Denver. Each week features a guest artist performing with Ron.

Drummer Braxton “B.K.” Kahn has been playing drums, singing, & performing original music and jazz standards since he was in elementary school. Since studying at, and subsequently graduating from CU-Boulder, Braxton has had the opportunity to perform with Paquito D’Rivera, Dave Douglas, Donald Harrison, Tony Monaco, & Henry Butler. B.K. was featured as one of KUVO’s “30-Under-30” young Denver jazz musicians.

Bassist Bob Songster is co-leader of the group Spherio along with pianist Tenia Nelson and drummer Andreas Schmid. A versatile performer, Bob has also worked regularly with La Pompe Jazz, William and the Romantics, Odessa Rose, Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles, Zion Baptist Church, David Booker, Jubilingo, and many more. As an Educator, Bob currently teaches beginning middle school band at Denver Language School.

Harry Drabkin, tenor, soprano and alto saxophones, graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1970 with a BA in performance and subsequently joined the Berklee faculty. While there, he was in the Recording Band, directed by Herb Pomeroy, and the Faculty Saxophone Quartet with Joe Viola, John LaPorte and Gary Anderson. Harry left music for a career in medicine and was an Oncologist, basic researcher and endowed Professor at the University of Colorado for 27 years, making significant discoveries in leukemia, lung and kidney cancers, as well as carrying out numerous clinical trials in metastatic kidney cancer.
