Tenor saxophonist Houston Person returns to Denver for two nights of performances at Dazzle this Wednesday and Thursday. KUVO is privileged to broadcast the first set on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Carlos Lando and Erik Troe will host this exclusive broadcast engagement.
Houston Person has been making jazz records for more than 50 years, and his list of collaborations is exhaustive. But he shows no sign of slowing down at age 83. You might call him the hardest working musician in jazz today. He’s actively producing, and his latest release (Nov. 2017) on High Note Records is “Rain or Shine.”
His accompanists for the Denver engagement are Ken Walker on bass, Jeff Jenkins on piano, and Paul Romaine on drums. You’ll want to see the bluesy, soulful, lyrical living legend for yourself, but if you can’t make it to the show in person, don’t miss the next “Live from Dazzle” featuring Houston Person this Wednesday night at 6 p.m. … Only on KUVO Jazz.
