El Sistema: Passion for Music with Young Students

Kyle Etges and El Sistema are looking to empower children through music education.

From humble beginnings in a parking garage in Venezuela, El Sistema has grown into a world wide phenomena transforming the lives of at-risk youth by introducing and fostering a life-long love for music.

"El Sistema's core philosophy is passion for music," Etges said, "and when you teach that first, there's really no limit to what the kids can learn."

The El Sistema program has been adopted at three schools in Denver. Etges teaches at Garden Place Academy on Lincoln Street, with other chapters at Swansea Elementary and Bruce Randolph School.

For more information El Sistema can be found on the web at: www.elsistemacolorado.org.

The music on this track was "Una Más" by 3ócity and Pat Bianchi from the album "3ócity," and "¡No Esta Complicado!" by Wayne Wallace from the album "The Nature of the Beat."
