Dr. Robert Greer reviews: Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe

Oct 31, 2017

The first collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories published in 1850 included most of Poe’s notable literary pieces. The first complete collection of his works however, Tales of Mystery and Imagination, was published in 1902.  I am lucky enough to have a rare 1935 edition of Tales of Mystery and Imagination, which is illustrated with 8 color plates.

I recently re-read this amazing book, which includes such masterpieces as The Fall of the House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Purloined Letter, and of course, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and The Telltale Heart. Five of Poe’s most entertaining tales.
