Sheryl Renee Productions and KUVO Jazz present "A Colorado Centennial Celebration for Thelonious Monk" on Friday, October 20 at 7pm at the Field House Event Center.

A night of tribute and celebration of one of the undisputed founders of the bebop movement, the acclaimed Pianist and Composer Thelonious Monk, for his 100th birth date observance. (Born October 10, 1917)

Sheryl Renee's Salute to the Legend...MONK, kicks off the evening with Sheryl's vocal my take on some of Monks classic ballads including his signature ballad "Round Midnight."

The Tenia Nelson Spherio Trio - Denver Jazz pianist Tenia Nelson, who KUVO describes as having "a piano voice that is unique and soulful" will bring her new MONK tribute CD "SPHERIO" to life, with Bob Songster on bass and Alex Tripp on drums.

Special guest..."Rome Neal" - NYC's award winning actor, director, producer & Jazz singer, performs excerpts from his 17 year portrayal of Jazz composer and pianist Thelonious Monk, in Laurence Holder's MONK. Followed by a talk back.

KUVO's music director, Arturo Gómez is emcee for the evening held at the beautiful Field House Event Venue, known as the Room with THE View! Cash Bar, Delicious Menu.
