Carolyn Joy of Joy Wine and Spirits stopped by to discuss her 2017 Chili Cook-Off and her pick for the best beer to go with Chili.

Colorado Hall of Fame induction concert honoring "Jazz Masters & Beyond" features performances from some members of the induction class —jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves, classical bassist Charles Burrell, guitarist Bill Frisell , trumpeter Ron Miles, Philip Bailey, Andrew Woolfolk and Larry Dunn of Earth, Wind and Fire.

East High School will receive a special non-performer award for their long history of musical graduates.

Nocturne is excited to present the Robert Johnson band singing the music of Frank Sinatra throughout the month of October on Fridays. Robert will be presenting his favorite tunes from Frank's work of over 50 years of stage, screen, radio and recording. Throughout the series Robert will be joined by: Mike Marlier, Dru Heller, Ben Makinen, Russ Meissner, Mark Diamond, Scott Martin.

This Sunday, October 22 at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features a very special recording of NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera, who performed at the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio at KUVO in 2015.

Vinyl Vault: "Grazing Dreams"

This week’s Vinyl Vault goes for that ethereal ECM sound with Collin Walcott’s 1977 album “Grazing Dreams.” The album features Don Cherry on trumpet and wood flute, John Abercombie on electric and acoustic guitars and mandolin, Palle Danielsson on bass, Dom Um Romao on percussion as well as Walcott on both sitar and tabla. The album draws on elements world  music and puts them in an improvisational context. The Vinyl Vault, Tuesday at 8:30 on KUVO.

The professional Airmen-musicians in The Falconaires follow in a long blue line of talented Air Force Academy bandsmen who are dedicated to serving our great nation and representing the young men and women at the academy training to be officers of character that will lead our Air Force. It’s been 50 years since the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band, the group’s eighth studio recording. On Thursday, the San Francisco (SF) String Trio takes the music from the album out for an intriguing jazz spin at Dazzle, 1512 Curtis. The trio is made up of strong players, Mads Tolling (who can be found in the Turtle Island String Quartet) on violin, Mimi Fox on guitar and Jeff Denson on bass and vocals. And its bow to Sgt.

 The 2017 Colorado Latino Hall of Fame Gala will offer our 500 distinguished guests a premiere experience. Guests will include community leaders, elected officials, and business leaders from throughout the state of Colorado.

The event will take place at the iconic Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The Ballroom sits atop the Helen Bonfils Theater Complex, framed by a dramatic view of the peaks of the Rocky Mountains and the iconic urban architecture of Denver’s Lower Downtown skyline.

This Sunday, October 15 at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features highlights from 11 CDs, all recorded at the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio, on the premises of KUVO Radio!

Witnessing these blowout sets were members of the KUVO Studio Club – regular, ongoing donors to KUVO.  They are hip to one of the hottest, most intimate jazz spots in the Mile High City.
