Live at KUVO: Gumbo le Funque | Feb. 17

Gumbo le Funque - a feature on KUVO's 30th Anniversary CD: Live at the Oasis Vol. 11. - will perform live in the KUVO studio February 17 from 2-3 pm MST!

The Denver-based group is known for its melange of good time New Orleanian music, including compositions from Dr. John and the Meters. On February 17, the group will cover Mardi Gras standards as well as debut new material.

Bill Frisell Returns to Denver for Homecoming Performance | Jan. 21

In his interview with renowned guitarist Bill Frisell, KUVO host Victor Cooper reminisces about the first time he heard Wes Montgomery's "Bumpin on Sunset." 

It was 1968 at Denver's East High School where Cooper first heard Montgomery's iconic song strummed by fellow classmate, Frisell. Frisell later asked Cooper to join his R&B/jazz group The Soul Merchants, who went on to win a talent contest. Hear the full interview above.
