City kids getting STEM boost from OWL tech fair

They used to be called “science fairs.”  Now they’re called “tech fairs.”  Open World Learning is an after-school educational program that teaches advanced computer technology to Denver area students.  New CEO of Open World Learning Piep van Heuven visited "First Take" with the story of this weekend's tech fair at the Bruce Randolph School in northeast Denver.

"Our award-winning curriculum improves the math skills of about 1,000 Title 1 students annually," said van Heuven.  "Really, they're learning to love to learn."
