Joy Wine and Spirits

Join us at Joy Wine & Spirits' back parking lot for the Joy Wine & Spirits Chili Cook-off 6th Annual Charity Event on Sunday, October 23 from Noon to 5pm. You'll sample delicious chili from over 20 of Denver’s best restaurants! There will also be games, local beer, and wine tasting! The best part? All proceeds go to our partnering charity, Project Worthmore. KUVO's Music Director, Arturo Gómez will provide chili eatin' tunes.

In a bag or in a box, summertime wine in Colorado's parks and outdoor concert venues do not involve glass bottles.  Carolyn Joy from Joy Wine & Spirits comes to the rescue with an array of varietals, vintages and accessories for the June edition of KUVO's Wine and Food Pairing on the morning show "First Take with Lando and Chavis."

Given the Passover Seder plate staples of brisket and matzoh, a fuller bodied red wine would be good, although we've always tried to let our customers choose whatever they want.  We do have red and white kosher wines.

Kosher wine has come a long way in the last five years with more modern wine making techniques, more care in the vineyard and more care in the cellar.  There is much more variety as well: pinot noir, sparkling, cabernet, chardonnay, white blends.

Just after the annual release of Beaujolais Nouveau last night at Joy Wine and Spirits, Carolyn Joy visited First Take with Lando and Chavis with some Thanksgiving food and wine pairings.

The third Thursday in November is Beaujolais Nouveau Day.  "It's diminished in popularity a bit in the U.S.," said Joy, as she happily uncorked one of their offerings, from Georges DuBoeuf (pictured).  "It's  very young, very fresh, and a lot of people like to serve it at Thanksgiving."

Congratulations to Joy Wine and Spirits’ 2014 Chili Cook-Off winner, Café Brazil.  In honor of this win and the Hatch Green Chile season, Tony from Café Brazil shared a delicious recipe for brie stuffed sandia chiles.
