This weekend, more Women's History Month programming is on tap as we note the accomplishments of several female vocalists. We also encourage you to explore Women and Girls Lead, a major public media initiative focused on women and girls' issues, connecting citizens in Colorado, across the country and around the world.

Girl Singers of Swing: So-called “girl singers” like Helen Humes, Ivie Anderson and Billie Holiday first made their mark working with Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and other bandleaders. But they soon became legendary vocalists in their own right, proving that they were not just another pretty face. Tune in to RiverWalk Jazz on Saturday at 8am or listen on HD2 at 11am on Saturday.

Luciana Souza Trio: Toast of the Brazilian jazz scene Luciana Souza offers her trademark style of gentle but adventurous vocal explorations. With four Grammy nominations for Best Jazz Vocal under her belt, Souza lights up the Allen Room with a panache reserved for veterans twice her age. Wendell Pierce hosts. Jazz from Lincoln Center airs at 11pm Saturday on KUVO: you can also hear it on our HD2 channel at 2pm Saturday.
