Danny Valenzuela

Co-Host, Latin Soul Party and Canción Mexicana

Danny Valenzuela grew up in El Paso, Texas listening to Oldies and Tejano music. After attending UTEP on a Music Scholarship and a stint in the Navy as a weatherman, he made his home in Denver because he liked the climate and the changing of the seasons. He met Carlos Lando in the mid 80's, while working as a Broadcast Engineer. In 1990, he joined KUVO as a co-host of the popular show, Canción Mexicana and started Denver's first Spanish DJ Service, Latin Nites DJ's. After ten years of hosting Canción Mexicana, he moved on and hosted The Super Tejano Show on another radio station. A year of collaboration with Carlos, KUVO's Program Director, resulted in Danny creating The Latin Soul Party.

Latin Soul Party

This program embodies the great variety of Latin artists such as Tito Puente, Selena, Santana, Eddie Palmieri, Los Lonley Boys and many others. If it's got a Latin Beat and you can dance to it, there's a good chance the Latin Soul Brothers will play it!

Cancion Mexicana

New Mexico, Colorado and Tejano music with information excerpts from Latino USA and News From Our Community. It's cumbia, it's rancheras, and a little bit of mariachi - it's all that and more. Get ready to dance!
