Art Scene: Carlos Frequez at Denver Art Museum

Over the next year, the Denver Art Museum will be working with four local Latino artists to create installations inspired by pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial galleries.  Kicking off the "Cuatro" exhibition, celebrated Chicano artist and native Denverite Carlos Frésquez.  Visual arts consultant Hilary DePolo interviewed her friend Fresquez for the July edition of the regular KUVO feature "Art Scene."

Bring the family and plan to stay awhile, there's something for everyone. When was the last time you had fun doing a scavenger hunt?  CBAF's Scavenger Hunt will take you on an excursion of the entire festival grounds - explore and find the answers to questions on African American arts & culture with family or friends.  Scavenger Hunt starts at the Information Booth near the 17th Avenue & Esplanade entry gate.

"Minions" at E. B. Rains Park | July 14

El Comercial de Colorado presents "Cine en el Parque" (Movie in the Park), a free family movie event that is open to the public. Join us at E. B. Rains Park in Denver (11701 Community Center Drive, Northglenn) for a screening of "Minions" at 7pm.

In what is historically regarded as one of the most significant Colorado landmarks, Denver City Park is  known for its vibrant and popular summer Jazz concert season. This year, the park celebrates its 30th anniversary of the Jazz Summer Concert series that derived from a tradition that is more than a century old for Denver City Park. The second concert in this summer’s series featured one of Denver’s most widely regarded female Jazz singers, Lannie Garrett.
