Eats & Beats: New pub in 5 Pts., Dunbar

The owners of Dunbar Kitchen & Tap House preserved the storefront window from the previous tenant.

The next exhibit in the renaissance of Denver's Five Points neighborhood is the opening of Dunbar Kitchen & Tap House, in the same space as the previous 50-year tenant Dunbar Barber Shop, at 2844 Welton Street.  Managing Partner Charles Wessels visited "First Take with Lando and Chavis" to celebrate the three-week old space.

Join Dazzle Jazz on January 17 for Codaryl Cody Moffett's Jambalaya Youth Xplosion to hear some of Denver's finest young musicians. 

Son of legendary drummer Charles Moffett and brother of virtuoso bassist Charnett Moffett, Cody was immersed in music and surrounded by jazz greats from a young age. A recent Denver resident and  KUVO on-air guest, Cody has hand-picked a group of top local youth musicians that is sure to wow.

Eats & Beats: New Year's food with Howard Treppeda


On this "Eats and Beats" Wednesday, our culinary trip around the world celebrates New Year's Eve traditional dishes.  For an Italian twist, we called on Howard Treppeda, whose menu for tonight includes the essential good luck food, beans. 

"We grew up eating lentils every New Year's Eve, and I want to share that with our guests," said Treppeda.  

Not eschewing the traditional foods of good fortune entirely, Treppeda notes, "What brings luck into it is not only the menu items.  It's the spirits, it's the music, it's the family that comes around the whole package."
